The Blue Ginger Café prides itself on being a casual, family restaurant, and a family-friendly place.
We are fortunate indeed to have some special individuals and families who have helped to build our business and to make it what it is today: Sherwin Agmata, who is our executive chef, and his mother, chef Nolita Ilustrado; Catherine Soriano, our manager, and her mom, Patricia; Chef Eddie Valencia and his wife Armida; Onofre Buenio and his wife, Manuela, and Chef Estrella Untalan.
Joseph Abilay opened the Blue Ginger Café in 1991 and worked every day from before sunup until after sun down. Georgia Keenan-Abilay handles all the administrative duties and serves as Company President. Their three sons, Phoenix, who is currently a manager, his brother John, who managed and developed the t-shirts, and their brother Mark, who cooked, have made this truly a family business. Phoenix’s daughter, Chant’e, and son Kanoa, also work for the family business.
Our family is sincerely grateful to the many individuals and families who have made an invaluable contribution to the evolution of the Blue Ginger Cafe.
We truly appreciate and acknowledge all of our regular and long standing customers and their families. Thank you for your support over the years and to help make us what we are today: a restaurant for Lanai families, that is open every day, and dedicated to providing good local food at affordable prices.
